Jim started his policing career with Simcoe/Burlington Police Services and then joined the OPP in  November 1963. He served at Milton, Simcoe, and Norfolk Detachments and Community Services Branch before retiring as a Sergeant on January 31, 1993, from Information Services/Media Relations. Jim is survived by his wife Jean and their children Barbara, Mary-Jean and Brenda, predeceased by his brother-in-law Retired OPP Staff Sergeant Douglas Godby.
