The OPP Association will be flying the Pride flag for the month of June in support of all people in the 2SLGBTQ+ community. We support an optimized work environment including diversity, integrity, awareness and equity of 2SLGBTQ+ employees where there are no barriers, stereotypes or bias. We are sensitive to the unique needs of the 2SLGBTQ+ community and  are committed to building bridges for all members of the community.

Education and awareness is integral for moving forward in unity and respectfully. We take this opportunity, on the occasion of the launch of Pride Month 2021, to share two important Canadian law enforcement resources to help us all respect and better understand our colleagues, friends and families who are a part of our 2SLGBTQ+ community.

“Serving With Pride” have drafted scenarios for police that demonstrate how outing Transgender person can lead to anti-trans violence or discrimination in our workplace. We encourage all to have a read by clicking here.

The Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police have compiled a comprehensive Equity and Inclusion Toolkit supporting the 2SLGBTQ+ Community. We encourage all to have a read by clicking here.

The President and Board of Directors of the Ontario Provincial Police Association wish everyone Happy Pride.
