OPP Association Flying Transgender Flag For Transgender Awareness Week 2021

From Saturday November 13, 2021 to Saturday November 20, 2021 inclusive, the OPP Association is flying the Transgender flag to mark Transgender Awareness Week.
The week helps raise the visibility of transgender people and address issues the community faces. The week is an opportunity to bring transgender people and their allies together to take action and bring attention to the community through education, sharing stories and advancing advocacy efforts.
The Transgender Day of Remembrance is observed annually on November 20 to memorialize those who have died as a result of anti-trans violence and to draw attention to the continued violence endured by the transgender community.
The organization “Serving With Pride” has put a social media challenge out for Associations and Police Services to tag them in social media posts with the Transgender flag flying. The OPP Association was honoured to oblidge and has posted to OPP Association Twitter, Facebook Instagram and LinkedIn tagging Serving With Pride.
Transgender Day of Remembrance is an annual observance on Nov 20th. Some police services or associations will be raising the transgender flag to commemorate this day. Tag us in your photos so that we can share!
