On behalf of the Board of Directors of the OPP Association, thank you to all OPPA members who have been deployed to protests in Windsor, Ottawa and other locations throughout the province the past few weeks.

Thank you to the front line members who have been working extra hours to keep the operational continuity at Detachments around the Province.

The calls for service have been significantly higher during this time period due to winter weather and other factors. On Saturday, for example, West Region responded to over 1400 calls for service in less than a 24hr period.

The Command and the OPP Association have received many compliments from members of the public and the law enforcement community commenting on the professionalism of our members during this unprecedented time.

I also wish to take a moment to thank the families of our members, who have had to adjust their lives, and understandably have been worried about their loved ones. Your support of your loved ones and our work during these times is important and greatly appreciated.

Rest assured that your OPP Association will continue to support our members.

The Encompas Mental Health Wellness Program is available to members and their families 24/7 and can be reached by calling 1-866-794-9117 or online at EncompasCare.ca.

If any members need anything please don’t hesitate to reach out to your Branch Executive members. All of the current up to date contact information is available on the members only side of the OPPA website under the Branches tab.

You can also reach out and be connected to the appropriate resource at the OPPA by emailing communications@oppa.ca.

Sincerely
President Rob Stinson
and the Board of Directors
