Floyd served at Timmins DHQ, Cochrane and Moosonee Detachments, Belleville DHQ, Madoc and Brechin Detachments before retiring from Beaverton Detachment as a Corporal on March 31, 1985. Floyd is survived by his children William and Trina, predeceased by his wife Patricia.
