RETIRED COMMISSIONER R. ARCHIE FERGUSON passed away on August 18, 2017. Archie served at Kenora DHQ, Ignace, Sioux Lookout, and Simcoe Detachments, GHQ, Chief Inspector Criminal Investigations Branch, Staff Superintendent Criminal Intelligence Branch, Chief Superintendent, Assistant Commissioner Special Services Division and Deputy Commissioner Field Operations before retiring as Commissioner on January 31, 1988.
Archie is survived by his children, Heather, Pamela, Hugh, retired OPP Civilian Martha McDonald (Corporate Communications), son-in-law retired OPP Superintendent Stuart McDonald (Office of the Commissioner) and Granddaughter OPP Special Constable Jennifer Mullin (Queens Park). Archie is pre-deceased by his wife, Jean.
RETIRED DEPUTY COMMISSIONER LAWRENCE (LARRY) BEECHEY, Badge #5864, passed away on August 16, 2017. Larry served at Bracebridge, Brantford, Sault Ste. Marie and Ottawa/Carleton Detachments, Staff Development & Training East Region HQ, Superintendent (Director of Support) East Region HQ and Chief Superintendent East Region HQ before retiring as Deputy Commissioner Provincial Command Traffic Safety and Operational Support on June 30, 2015.
Larry is survived by his wife Carole, daughter Jaime, son OPP Detective Sergeant Chris Beechey (East Region Supervisor Regional Intel Coordinator), daughter-in-law Janice Beechey (OPP CO2 PCC – Smiths Falls), brother-in-law Retired OPP Sergeant Robert Osman (Owen Sound), niece OPP Constable Lynn Lauzon (Niagara HSD), nephew OPP Constable Marc Lauzon (Niagara HSD) and nephew OPP Constable Nick Lacourse (Ottawa Traffic).
Alexander served at Dundas DHQ, Waterdown, Burlington DHQ, Mount Forest and Security Branch before retiring as a Detective Sergeant from Anti Rackets on March 31, 1983. Alexander is survived by his sons Kevin, Barry (Retired OPP, Executive Protection Unit) and daughter-in-law Tracy Crocker (OPP Provincial CPIC Operator) and predeceased by his wife Marjorie.
Gary served at Pembroke and Belleville Detachments before retiring as a Sergeant from Quinte Detachment on January 31, 1994. Gary is survived by his wife, Iva and children Tammy, Nancy and Tracey.
George served at Toronto, Vandorf, Sibbald Point Provincial Park, Brampton, Downsview and Caledon Detachments before retiring as a Sergeant from Records & Registration Branch GHQ on May 31, 1994. George is survived by his son Steve, predeceased by his wife Nannette.
Garnet served his entire career at Belleville Detachment before retiring as a Constable on May 30, 1986. Garnet is survived by his wife Monica and his children Lawrence and Lynda.
Glen served at Oakville Detachment before retiring as a Senior Constable from Blind River Detachment on November 30, 1995. Glen is survived by his wife, Cindy and children Dawn, Sheri (OPP Sergeant Peter Rancourt, Blind River Detachment), Ken, Jennifer, James and Jessica. Brother-in-law of retired OPP Sergeant Jeff Barnes, retired OPP Staff Sergeant Edward (Don) Hammond and nephew OPP Constable Donald Hammond (Bracebridge Detachment). Predeceased by wife Dianne.
Christina was a Caretaker at the Sioux Narrows Detachment, before retiring on August 21, 2002. Christina is survived by her Canadian Family in Sioux Narrows and her family in Austria.
Mike served at Armstrong and SchreIber Detachments before retiring as a Senior Constable from Manitouwadge Detachment on July 21, 2000. Mike is survived by his son Russell.
Red served at London and Elora Detachments before retiring as a Corporal from Brockville Detachment on December 31, 1985. Red is survived by his children Mike, John and Jim and predeceased by his wife Marjorie.
