Phil served at Peterborough and Sharbot Lake Detachments, North Bay TRU Team, Perth DHQ Traffic Unit, Belleville DHQ, East Region (Emergency Response), East Region (Penitentiary Squad) and East Region (Crime Unit) before retiring as a Staff Sergeant from Leeds County Detachment on March 31, 2004.

Phil is survived by his wife Jennifer Cassidy, (OPP Detective Constable Investigation & Support Bureau) children Melissa, Harvey, and father-in-law Russell Cassidy (Retired OPP Detective Constable).
