Our Members. Our Focus. Our Strength.

On November 7th, 2024 Branch 10N held their meeting in Pembroke. This was the last official meeting for 10N Vice President Mark “Yarmy” YARMEL who will be retiring at the end of the year.

Mark has demonstrated over the course of his career as a police officer (30 years plus) and as a representative and spokesman for our members with the OPPA his commitment to our members, his dedication to doing what is best for our members, the ability to engage and support our members in times when they needed to hear it’s going to be ok. The best interest of our members was always his top priority. Mark is a true example of how we should be engaging with our membership.

On behalf of our 10N Executive, Representatives and all members within 10N Branch.. Thank you Mark for the years of service you have dedicated and to the overall good you have done for our members in the OPPA.

A great time was had by all at the Branch 12 South Annual Memorial Golf Tournament, September 16th, at Osprey Links Golf Course in Callander, ON.

The tournament raised approximately $2800 for Wounded Warriors.

The following is a note from Staff Sergeant Reggie Dava, Detachment Manager | Ontario Provincial Police Mississauga / Cambridge Detachment | Highway Safety Division complementing our OPPA 4 Branch Members for a job well done on the August 25th, 2024 Open House. Thank you to all of our Members!

Good morning Team,

I wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped coordinate our recent Open House event. This includes our dedicated admin staff, Cadets from Mississauga and Toronto, Auxiliaries from Mississauga, Toronto, Niagara, Milton OTU, and the YIPI students. Your commitment and hard work played a crucial role in making the day a tremendous success.

Thanks to your efforts, we not only engaged with the public but also seized the opportunity to collect back-to-school supplies for children in need. Our partnership with the Peel Family Shelter was vital in turning this into a meaningful initiative.

We were thrilled with the great turnout and the enthusiastic support from Mississauga Fire, Peel Regional Police Service, MTO, Peel Crime Stoppers, UCRT, OTU, and OPPA Branch 4, all of which greatly contributed to the event’s success.

Your contributions have made a significant impact, and I am deeply grateful for your dedication and collaboration. A special and heartfelt thanks to our Cadet, Nimra, whose passion and initiative were instrumental in bringing this event to fruition. This achievement would not have been possible without her.

Inspector Randall – Thank you for taking time out of your annual leave to support your team. Your dedication is truly appreciated.

Thank you all once again for your outstanding support.

The photo was taken at Sky Harbour International airport in Phoenix Arizona on the June 26, 2019. D/Cst. Armit and D/Cst. Stemoski attended Phoenix in the OPP Pilatus in relation to the extradition of a prisoner who had been convicted of sexual assault in Superior Court and while awaiting sentencing, absconded into the US. Extradition proceedings were commenced with Crown Law in Toronto with assistance from the International Assistance Group in Ottawa, the Office of International Affairs in the US and the US Marshal Service who located and arrested the accused for us in Arizona. An excellent example of cooperation amongst our Justice Partners and the lengths at which the OPP will go to get to bring accused persons to Justice. The accused was successfully returned to Canada on the June 27, 2019 and is in custody awaiting sentence. A special thanks to OPP Aviation Service for their assistance and safe travel completed by pilots Wade Arnold and Marcus Himanen.
