The annual Canadian Police and Peace Officer’s Memorial will take place on the west lawn of Parliament Hill Sunday, September 27, 2026.

Members who are attending are eligible for reimbursement from the OPPA for expenses up to $300 per member household. The deadline to apply for this funding through the OPPA website is 5 p.m. September 17. There were a total of eight police and peace officers who died in the line of duty in 2026 to date.

For this year’s Ceremony, six names of police and peace officers are being added to the tablets at the rear of the Centre Block of Parliament Hill. The families of two of the officers have requested to defer to the 2027 date for their loved ones to be added.

The names of the officers being added this year are:

OPP Provincial Constable Tarun Bali

Sûreté du Québec Sergeant Anaïs Fortin-Cozzens

Toronto Police Service Constable Marc Pinizzotto

Service de police de la Ville de Montréal Constable Mohamed Lamine Benredouane

Correctional Officer Nicolae Serban
