The OPPA is passing the following message along on behalf of our Member Adam Belanger:

On September 27th, our OPPA Member, Rene, was involved in a serious bicycle crash during the 2024 Ride to Remember.
This event, which means so much to Rene, took an unexpected turn, leaving him hospitalized far from home in Kingston. Rene’s passion for cycling is well-known among his friends and family.
Rene faces a long road to recovery, we are asking for your support to help cover the costs associated with this unfortunate incident.
The funds raised will be used for:
1 Being hospitalized away from home has added significant cost for accommodations and meals so that Jody can be close to support Rene.
2 Replacing Rene’s Cannondale Bike: This bike was not just a mode of transportation for Rene; it was a symbol of his dedication and love for cycling.
3 Cycling Equipment: Helmets, gloves, and other gear that were damaged in the crash need to be replaced.
Rene has always been the first to lend a hand to others in need. Now, it’s our turn to support him. Any amount you can contribute will make a significant difference and help Rene get back on his feet and back on his bike.
Thank you for your generosity and support of one of our own.
With gratitude,
Rene’s Cycling Family
